The exerciser intends to be a counterfeit:
It reports your speed, but you are going nowhere
It creates different levels of tension, but there are no mountains
no races with others
no scenery to slow down and enjoy
no pushing it to get home on time or elsewhere
It makes a "whirring" sound, but not the purr of a well oiled chain or the the hum of friction as the tires roll over the road
I can choose different programs, but I can't respond spontaneously to the different situations (being chased by a dog)
I can find out how many calories I burned or my heart rate (if I fix it), but this has nothing to do with riding for me.
Beware of counterfeits! They make it seem real, but it's not.
"Monopoly"money versus real money
Imitation vanilla versus real vanillla
Boxed cake mixes versus cakes made from "scratch"
Costume jewelry versus diamonds
Religion versus relationship with God
Yes, Christianity possesses counterfeit activities like riding a bicycle exerciser
Saying prayers versus really praying
Reading the Bible versus reading God's Word
Politely responding to people versus really loving
Putting money in the offering plate versus giving generously
Beware of counterfeits. They appear real, but they aren't.
