However, once you water the plant, after a bit of time, the plants perk up and look normal again. A little bit of water and sunshine bring wholeness back to the plant. Plants can be damaged severely, if not die, due to lack of water. I have seen that in the greenhouse. One has to make sure the plants get watered, so that they will not die.
You and I need to water ourselves also. The Holy Spirit of God is compared to water in Scripture. Ponder these words of John 7:37-39 NIV, "On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.' By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive..."
We need water, not only physically, but spiritually. When we rely on our own efforts, we will get thirsty. If there is no water, we will begin to wilt. We need the Spirit of God to fill our spirit, so that we will be refreshed and grow. So, take time to get a drink daily. May you enjoy an endless supply of water and have you thirsts satisfied with the Holy Spirit.
