I have been juggling, but not balls. I have been juggling three jobs. The last two days I worked at all three jobs. In fact, early this morning around 5 I started my one job, and that ended around 8:45. Then I worked at my next job from 9-11 am. Then I moved to my third job from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. Now since 6 p.m. until now (8:30 p.m.) I am back working at my first job. This only happens two days a week. The other days, except Sunday, I only juggle two jobs. I yearn for timing, coordination and focus.
My wife reminded me that this will only be for a season, hopefully a short one. I don't think I've been stressed about it, but neither have I been able to relax too much either. I hope my wife is right.
How have I been able to juggle? The Lord's prayer. God has used the prayer Jesus taught his disciples to keep me somewhat at peace. The words "Give me this day our daily bread" have been the motivating words. Right now we are not in need of daily food. However, I need daily alertness, daily wisdom and daily strength. Most of all, I need to have the right attitude daily to face the juggle; I need the mind of Christ.
I do not think God would mind if we pray:
"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Give us this day our daily strength. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Amen."
If God has led you into a time of juggling, he will help you learn your timing, coordination and focus one day at a time. If he has not led you into your juggling, or if you are choosing to focus fearfully on the next day and not this day, he may allow you to drop the ball. If you need to juggle, look to God to help you keep your eyes on the balls.
