However, right now I am working in a green house. I am planting flowers. Young mums declare their life with beautiful bright green stems. The lilies stretch toward the sun with a vibrant more yellowish green hue. The hydrangea look like deer antlers, yet with green on top. The cyclomen already announce God's glory with their flowers of red, white and pink. Spring is coming. Life is arriving on the scene. A new season awaits around the corner.
Amazingly, at the beginning of this month I was in the process of killing. Not really, plants don't have a soul. I was throwing out all the extra poinsettias. The beautiful dark red flowers or the cream colored white flowers were not wanted. After Christmas, no one buys any. Thus, I empty them in a wheelbarrow and dump them in a garden. They will be compost for the coming spring.
It is an amazing job. I help bring life into the world. I help bring death to the world. I wonder what God experiences. He brings life and death not only to plants and animals but also to those who are made in his image- us human beings. Of course, if I am accurate, God brings life, death, and new life. This new life will never die again. Pretty amazing!
