Many shuttle bus drivers do not know how much they are like Jesus. The shuttle bus drivers bear all the burdens of the driving on behalf of the riders of the shuttle bus. The riders do not worry about the cars that cut off the bus. The riders have no anxiety about the traffic jam. Rain and wind thrashing against the bus bring no fear to the rider. The driver handles all the problems on behalf of the riders.
Figuratively, Jesus is a great shuttle bus driver. He carries our sorrows. He daily bears our burdens. He bore our sins in his body. He even invites, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
There are probably many other roles that we do that remind us of Jesus. However, as I drove the bus the other day, I was thinking about Jesus being a shuttle bus driver.
