Right now I am listening to music from the 60's and 70's at work; it's blasted over the speakers. Well, if people followed the lead of the lyrics I hear, our nation would have much broken marriages and families and many other broken relationships, Guess what? It does. Most of the music tells the listener to act on your feelings. If it feels right, do it. Love equals sex. Well, our nation has listened to that music and followed it. Thus, broken relationships reign. Four out of 10 children do not have a father at home. So, the government has become the father. What a mess that has become.
If my friend is right, blame it on the musicians, the writers of books, the producers of TV shows and movies, the painters and so much more. They have led us into this mess.
Two more police officers will be buried this week in Maryland. They died violently at the hands of a criminal. Of course, if my friend is right, we should blame the artists once again. After all, the artists love violence in songs; listen to some of the rap. Of course, remember the old song, "I shot the sheriff." Computer games, movies, and TV shows graphically portray violence. We as a nation entertain ourselves with violence. How could we not become a more violent nation if we are entertained by it.
Why can't the artists lead us into peace?
Don't think that watching and listening to false views of love or looking at violent actions has no effect on yourself. If you think that, you are only lying to yourself.
Our nation is living out what they get entertained by. Why can't more artists promote more peace and wholeness? Why can't they go a new direction?
