I was leading a group of people, a work team, to help renovate a church. We had no clue of what this renovation included. In my first image in the dream, we were seeking to find the church. We came to a location in which there were a couple churches. When we discovered at which church we would be working, we walked around the building to find a way in and to see if we could connect with anyone. We saw a man inside, and he then opened the building for us.
As we scouted out the building, we learned that the building was much larger than we originally thought. The building had been constructed of stones many years ago.; the building must have been at least 100 years old. The interior decor also reflected the age of the stone. As we explored the building though, we learned that one of the assignments was to restore a large star. Thus, we began looking for a star, but we really didn't know for what we were looking. We did not immediately find it inside, so I went outside. I thought I saw some stars in the stone decor, but I was told that it was not it. I never did find the star, but as I searched outside, I learned that the building was so much bigger than we thought. It seemed to have grown from the time we had been looking for it.
When I went back inside, I found a small chapel. Due to the drop of attendance, the congregation could have held their services there, but they didn't. They still met in the main sanctuary which was connected to the chapel. It was really an immense sanctuary. Intriguingly, large drapes hung down from the ceiling. They weren't hanging near windows; it looked like they served as walls or partitions. They were old and musty. I wondered if the drapes were part of our assignment; I knew they needed to be.
I was then introduced to the priest or the pastor. I believe I asked which he was, but I could not get a distinct answer. He was not the senior pastor though; I would later meet him. As I talked with him, I began thinking, if not speaking, about what would happen if the congregation was enthused about Jesus. Well, he introduced me to another pastor. I don't think it was the senior pastor; because somehow I learned the senior pastor would be in a wheelchair.
I mentioned to this pastor, maybe I questioned him, if his congregation was zealous for Jesus. The pastor stunned me. He told me he desired the spirit of Allah. I responded, "You can't believe that. This congregation needs to be about Jesus and Jesus alone." I believe we talked more, but I came to a place where I said our work team is not going to work here if you continue to seek Allah., as if that would change his mind - not!
The dream ended. I woke up and I knew instantly what that dream meant. I need to keep pointing people (congregations) to Jesus. The whole concept of speaking like a prophet came to mind, though I am not claiming God is calling me to be one. He is calling me to stand tall for Jesus in the midst of a world in which even many churches have deserted Jesus. In an age where Jesus is pushed aside, I and you need to stand firm for Jesus.
